Bucket List Summer 2016

Alexis had a bucket list for the summer:
1. Learn to play the ukulele
2. Do a triathlon
3. Hike to a waterfall
4. (something else, but I can't remember now)
5. Paddle board

It was so great to be able to be part of a couple of these. I was there as she finished her triathlon on Ft. Lewis and it was so emotional and all the soldiers helping out that day were amazed by her finishing it and cheered her on. Then we had a really great day in September and went out on the lake to paddle board. She even fell off out by the park and was able to get back on and stand up. Cannon got it all on camera. I love my strong and faithful friend and I am blessed to be a part of her life.

Seattle Soccer and Alki 2016

 Cannon's soccer team had a game in West Seattle

After Cannon's soccer game we played around in West Seattle and at Alki until we went to Kim's house for a cousins get together. We got some good ice cream and played a little volleyball until the rain came. Nona decided if she couldn't have the ice cream she could at least have a nap.

Zoo Trip 2016

The kids earned their free zoo trip through the library again with their summer reading program. We had a pretty nice day on Labor Day so we headed out for a few hours in the morning. Nona loved all the animals at the beginning and then was happy to be turned around in the pack for a nap during the last half. Phil was even able to join us this year and we had Round Table Pizza for lunch.

Longhurst Summer 2016

We don't get together with the Longhurst very often because we are all so busy, but it is always great when we can. Miya and Cora are able to reconnect and enjoy each others company. So fun to remember the first couple of years of their lives where they spent so much time together. Heather watched Miya while I finished school at UW and then I watched Cora on Thursday nights while Matt and Heather taught dance. It is so great to have good friends around. 

House

We got most of the house painted. Just down to a few of the windows and some dark brown paint details.

Puget Sound Fishing

While Kris was going to a class in Georgia, Austin took Phil and Cannon out in their boat for a day of fishing and crabbing. They didn't catch much, but had a great time. Cannon forgot to put sunscreen on his legs above his knees so was pretty roasted from sitting in the sun for hours. We each got a little bite of crab and some fish that night.
