Door

Our tenant in Tacoma passed away and had called 911 before she collapsed. The fire department had to break down the door to get in to her. The door is super old (maybe even original to the house that is over 100 years old) so we had it fixed. I didn't take a better picture once we fixed the frame. I just wish it was as easy to fix the hole in her family. Praying that her daughter finds peace.

Date Nights

Phil loves a party and loves getting people together. We have some really great families in our ward and Stake. Lots are moving in the next few weeks. The Cupps (to Japan) the Francis (to Arizona) the Hatches (to Virginia) the Palmers (to Chicago). We had a date night dodgeball game, Indian food and then games back at the cabin. It is a really great thing that I love Phil so much and have him as a best friend so I can make it through all these friends moving.

Kids + Warm Floor Winter 2017

This doesn't happen very often so we had to pull out the camera to capture Lyla and Miya cuddling each other.

We find that having a warm floor means we spend time laying on it during the winter months.

One Jamie Turns 40

We went to a surprise party for Jamie Pace. She turned 40, but shares birthdays with Ashlee. Jason went all out on the 80s theme for the party and had a nice photo booth set up. It is so crazy to be at the age you remember your parents being when they said they didn't feel old, but you thought they were. I don't feel old, but that might have more to do with having a 2 year old to follow around. I am still pretty surprised when I look in the mirror at the older lady looking back at me. It is great that life is this enjoyable in your middle age and seems to be getting better each year.

Young Men Snow Campout 2018

Another successful snow camp out at Ensign Ranch. They got a ton of fresh snow the morning they arrived. It started warming up at night so all the snow was falling from the trees down on the A frame. Cannon said it sounded like bombs going off every few seconds. Kris and Phil were worried about safety and the roof caving in. They had a scout not put all his wet snow clothes by the heater at night so waited around for a few hours in the morning getting everything dry. Lessons learned the hard way, but the leaders made sure to show love and tried warning everyone the day before and with this young man they did it REPEATEDLY. Cannon had a great time playing snow football, snowshoeing and shooting guns.

Chemo

Going to chemo with Alexis was such a great blessing. I loved getting to spend hours with her and talking with her. I loved getting to help her in any way I could to make it a little bit easier. These stars on the window were made by one of the nurses from Switzerland who is an angel. I loved the stars and thought Cannon would be interested in making some. Chemo is one of those places that you can hardly believe how hard people are fighting for their lives. It was a tender place and a place that I felt so much heartbreak and yet so much love and peace. Still hoping that we will not be heading back for another round.

Nona's hat

Alexis made this hat for Nona for Christmas. I sure love my talented friend and Nona loves Alexis so much too.

Snow Days 2017

I love snow day with my kids home from school so much. I love sledding down the hill, drinking hot chocolate and spending time together. We had a few days and had to use all the snow make-up days later in the school day.

White Christmas 2017

We had a great Christmas with snow on the ground. The three older kids were super excited to give Nona gifts for Christmas and watch her open them. Miya got her a unicorn tent, Cannon got her an animal puzzle that makes the sounds as you put in the pieces and Lyla got her a broom and dust pan play set. They also wanted to open all the presents in the sunroom on the new warm floor. We opened presents. ate breakfast and played in the snow.
