Summer Days 2020

So many great summer days swimming with the Dahlke's. We had a great warm summer this year and spent as much time as we could in the water. Miya was working at Dahlke Orthodontics and cleaning the cabin. We had a ton of local guests come and stay since Covid limited travel. Cannon was doing lawn care at the M street house and working a handful of hours at McDonald's at the end of the summer. Lyla, Nona and I played outside as much as we could. 

Nicki's stop in from Japan July 2020

 After Nicki was stuck in Japan longer than expected due to Covid 19 she found out that they were flying in to Seattle while we were driving back from our trip to Driggs. We missed seeing them while we were all in Driggs, but fun to have them come stay for a couple days at our house. Nona loved having Selma around and thought Nicki should just leave her here when they packed up to head to Idaho. They were all pretty jetlagged from their travels and a lot of things were still closed due to Covid, but we managed to show them around a little bit of Tacoma and enjoy the beach and lake for a few days. So glad we got to visit her during her time in Japan and so happy to have her back in my same time zone, in California. 

Cannon's Birthday Driggs 2020

It is always amazing just hanging out with family at my parent's. There is always a ton of food to make and sometimes it feels like we are just going from meal to meal, but what a great place to gather.

Kate and Ash make for a pretty happy Nona.

I know it is hard for Cannon to appreciate his little birthday parties we have in Driggs with all this cousins, but it is so amazing that this tradition continues and even as old as most of the kids are they really like it. Something about a BBQ and pinata brings happiness. We all love this 16 year old boy.

We took the kids on a walk/hike to the bitch creek bridge. It was a beautiful day and had beautiful views. The kids mostly loved throwing things off the bridge and Nona found a worm. 

Drive to Driggs 2020

 Nona loved this whiteboard for the drive to Driggs. She was super excited to see Aunt Steph's cats. 

Phil's Birthday 2020

For Phil's birthday this year we went to Jamie and Jason's for a movie and dinner and Kirk surprised Phil with a Nutter Butter Pie. We have such good friends! It has made this time of quarantine manageable and even, at times, super fun. 

 

M Street House

Nona walked around with my phone, took pictures of everyone working and entertained us all. The other kids did a really great job helping to get the house turned over and super cleaned up. We had to paint everywhere and re-finish the floors, tore out and replaced the front and back porch, changed out some appliances, and a ton of yard work.
