Memories

So I got this off a friends blog so I thought I would try it because it could be super fun.

Phil's work retreat

Phil had all of his employees come to Olympia yesterday for a little work retreat. He needed my help because he hurt his knee last week and is still hobbeling around. They kids got to come too and they loved it. I think they were just excited about all the food. Miya loved a few of the ladies that she sat by at lunch and loved being included. I think it went pretty well.

Cannon and Miya really wanted to climb this tree, but it didn't have any limbs so this is how far they made it. They still wanted me to take a picture.

I spent most of the day keeping the kids entertained while they did the work training.

Lyla was trying to figure out the survival training dad had his employees doing. Cannon popped up in the picture the last second I was taking it, but he looks cute in the corner.

Lyla who is still a little nervous about balls being rolled, bounced or kicked by her; enjoyed sitting on the kickballs. Cannon had got her one to many times with balls for her to really enjoy them.

Miya was sweet all day and loved being with all the adults.

Nursery

We had this gate in the door and when we open the door for the parents to come pick-up their kids they come to find this. Aren't they just so stinkin' cute.

Phil and I had our last week in the nursery so we took the camera to get pictures of the kids. We only had 22 kids last week with people on vacation, but I am going to miss them all. We are now called to be the Ward Missionaries, which is still fun and exciting. We were just getting the hang of the whole nursery thing, but I guess that is just how it works.

And then there was one...

So Phil had his work trip down to Portland this week and we thought it would be a good idea for me to leave the kids with his mom and come with him. Well he worked all day so this is just a re-cap of all the great things I did by myself...
1. Ran


Yeah, yeah, yeah, you all wish you could look this good after a run.

2. Enjoyed some ice cream. (take pictures of myself)



3. Sat in the room and read. (I finished two books, neither of them were that great.)



4. Sat in the park and watched people...but all the people were at work.



5. Walked around town and pretended to like shopping. I lasted two hours in the stores and bought a new pair of running shoes and that was all I could take. It was a cute little area with great streets.



6. The best part of the whole trip was driving back and forth with Phil and getting to have three date nights in a row. We went and saw some movies, went to the Temple, listened to great old CDs and talked. It was great.

Nothing Much

Nothing much going on around here right now, but thought I would put up the pictures of the kids from the other night. They did catch a dead fish the other day and have been keeping it in a bucket. Cannon was sure it was just sleeping so needed to watch it for a few hours to see if it would stop floating and start swimming around. He was just as excited to see that a ladybug came and swam around the fish. I made the kids wash their hands really well before they ate lunch and the fish has since been wrapped in a bag and taken to his final resting place...the garbage.

I got my hair cut the other day. Just a few inches off for the summer. All the swimming and sun have taken a toll on the not so great hair anyway.

Dance Baby!

Lyla is getting to such a fun stage right now and starting to really love hanging out with her big brother and sister. I turned the music on the other day, got the camera out and captured this...

She is my 80's rock star baby with her very inspired hair do.

More Birthday...

Miya requested that we put this picture up because she took it.
Here are a few videos we took yesterday when Cannon got his bike for his birthday. You can tell how brave out children really are in the second video. I am sure it had something to do with me getting angry on Saturday when they ran the car into the garage door by taking off the emergency brake and putting it in gear. We have a downhill slope to the driveway and learned what that meant the hard way. They seem to be doing better this morning.

My little guy just turned 4!!!

So my little Cannon turned 4 today. He had lots of questions about the day he was born and if he was squished in my belly and if that is why he came out early. He loves the idea that I gave him his belly button and with that a promise to always love him, even when he does something bad. (which seems to happen quite often)
A few weeks ago I asked him what he wanted for his birthday. He told me he wanted a birthday just like last year at Grandma O'Brien's house. He wanted the little 4-wheelers and motorcycles and a pinata. Well I was heartbroken that we wouldn't be at Grandma O'Brien's house (because we all want to be there really) but we did have a pretty good day.
Actually it started the day before his birthday when he got this great card in the mail from his awesome Primary teacher, Sister Fischer. He played with it all day and he has kept it in a special safe place so Lyla couldn't get her hands on it.
It was a beautiful day and the kids went swimming. They are getting pretty brave and now make it about 75 yards out into the lake.
Aunt Jenny and her boys came over for a little dinner party...
Followed by a pinata. Hitting anything with a bat is great for little boys.
Topped off with brownies and ice cream. It was a great day. Plus we got calls from lots of singing family members wishing him a Happy Birthday. He loved it!!!

Summer

Of the many great and exciting things of summer one of my favorite is...

how tired swimming makes kids. Cannon hasn't taken naps for awhile now, but yesterday he swam like crazy in the lake and this is how I found him when I went to get him from "quite time".
