Basketball 2016-2017 Season

Cannon's basketball party for this year. Phil was able to help coach this year and it was so great to see him around these young men. About half the team had never played basketball before and we just following the coach from soccer, but everyone improved and they were able to compete with teams at the end of the season. I think they might have won a game at the end, but I can't remember if we won or just got close.

Office Retreat 2017

Phil took all his employees to a glass blowing place for a little retreat. They each got to make one piece (I think most ended up making candy dishes) He said it was super fun to do and was amazed at the process and how hard it was.

February events 2017

Trip to the movies with the Newville's after swimming in Federal Way for President's Day. I headed home with Nona for her afternoon nap.

Nona loves riding on the carts even if it is the slow ride with mom.

Father/Son Weekend 2017

For their father/son weekend this year they spent hours down at the cabin watching all the Star Wars movies Cannon had never seen. They slept for a few hours and then headed out to Crystal for some snowboarding. Cannon had only ever been on his little plastic board down our hill or some sledding mountains so he was excited to really try it. He said he had a good time, but that it was hard to learn to turn. They then left the mountain to head to the theater to watch Rogue One so they were all caught up on Star Wars.

Kate's visit 2017

Nona on Valentine's Day loving all the attention from the kids.

Kate came to a singing conference/performance here in Seattle. We were able to go listen to her sing. They all did an amazing job. We then took her out on the town to try to make her fall in love with Seattle (we want everyone to move here). We showed her the Troll, took her to the best chocolate shop, took her for a seafood dinner and then the beautiful parts of the airport to find the hotel she was staying at. She is such a beautiful, kind, loving, fun and smart lady. We loved being able to see her even if it was only for a few hours.

Gravelly Lake Youth

We have such a great group of youth in the ward. This mutual night they were at the Clover Park pool playing water polo. I get to teach all of them in Sunday School and I love them all so much. They have great leaders who care so much about them and making sure they all feel loved.

Move to Tillicum

The Newvilles moved to Tillicum and it is so wonderful. We have walked to their house and the kids are back and forth constantly. We have spent time at the park on the weekends. It has been so long since we have had anyone in the neighborhood for the kids to walk to and play with. This feeling is amazing...and then their car got stolen and their house broken into! Thanks Tillicum for making them feel so welcome. Nothing like hoping people move into your neighborhood like these events.

Ward Temple Night February 2017

I love my Ward so much. I feel like I have the best of the best in the Ward and that we are able to love each other like family. I love going to the Temple and the time spent learning and feeling peace inside. I also love the joy of eating dinner after with a group of happy people that I love so much. I felt like Phil captured the joy of these people in these pictures. I only wished there was more of us there to enjoy time together. The blessings of both The Gospel and the Church are so great. Heavenly Father loves us so much and gives us the blessings of wonderful people and peace here on this earth.

Snow Camp Out 2017

The young men went on their snow camp out at Ensign Ranch again this year. They spent time snowshoeing, shooting, cooking and earning merit badges. Phil and Cannon always have a great time and then talk about how cold they are at night sleeping in the open A frames. Phil can't even stay warm in our bed at night without his heated blanket.

All the boys love their YM's President, President Bennett. He is so fun and really cares about these boys.

Cannon can't help but build a tunnel whenever he is in the snow. I love that about him.
Pretty sure there isn't a merit badge for sledding behind a car in the dark, but if there were all the boys would have earned it. Things that happen on scout trips sometimes shouldn't be shared with mothers! They had a really great time together and it is so fun for Cannon to have these times with his dad.
