Combs Family Reunion 2017

Aaron and Jenny were in charge of the family reunion this year. It was more like an adventure camp. We had tons of great activities to keep everyone entertained and busy. It is always so great to get to see everyone and spend time together.

We started with rock climbing and treasure hunts.
Tubing, water skiing and wake-boarding for a day two.
Quad rides with Tim being such a great cousin and driving all the one to young to drive themselves.
Kayaking trips. We started heading the wrong way with the tide going against us, but figure it out when about 15 minutes in we were still close to where we started.

Phil watched Nona while I went with the morning group kayaking. He went with the later group and the weather was not great for them. The wind was strong and against them. Ruby tipped over and was soaked and cold. We picked them up earlier than originally planned, but not soon enough for everyone. We made a Dairy Queen stop and everyone seemed happy with that plan.

 Nona and Enzo hanging out.
Bridge jumping for those who were brave enough.

 Nana's birthday treats.
 Miya and Maggie

Miya had girls camp so missed the first two days of the reunion. She got in around 1:00 in the morning with Phil from Bishop's night. She got up at 6:00 to go hike with Aunt Jenny, Uncle Bryce, Maggie and Ruby. The hike was hard, but she really loved it.

Tim led the older cousins in a little cooking session making clam chowder with the clams they got earlier in the day.

Scout Camp 2017 Nisqually

This year Cannon went with the Dupont Ward to Nisqually for Scout Camp. He was able to get a ton of merit badges completed and is on track to get his Eagle rank right around 14 if he keeps going with it. He has had such great leaders and wouldn't be even close if it was all left to us.

Saturday Adventures

Went to Tacoma to the Sail Boat tour. It cost a ton to actually get to go on the boats and the line was super long so we just walked along the shore. Sometimes I feel more like a pack mule than anything when I have all the baby stuff needed to be somewhere for a time.

Day of Service

Our ward did the park right by our house for the parks clean-up day. We got a ton done and the people with the city were shocked that anyone showed up for our park. They were really impressed with all were we able to get done. It did start raining super hard about an hour into it so we were soaked. Mom and dad were here visiting and they were able to watch Nona so we could all work.

Rainier to Ruston 2017

Rainier to Ruston this year was so much harder because I was still so out of shape from having Nona and being so much heavier. We had a great time and the day was perfect for a run. Kris and his brother-in-law Drew ran with us. I ran a different leg this year and never realized how horrible the leg was that takes you through the industrial area of Tacoma. Drew and Jill moved at the end of the summer so they were super happy to have had this experience while they were here. I am excited for next year and feeling better and running faster. Alexis was a trooper and rode around the whole day with us even though she wasn't feeling great. It is always interesting looking at pictures when she had hair while she is going through treatment.
