Tuckered Out August 2022
I loved these pictures from the end of August when we have been playing so hard and everyone just needs a nap. Such a great summer and so many fun activities with friend and family.
Nona's Toe
We were playing volleyball over at the park one evening with Jason, Kirk, Paige, Heather and Lee. Nona was riding her bike in the skate park and then was moving her bike and didn't have her shoes on and the bike tipped over onto her toe. The handle bars hit just right so it popped her toe right open. She screamed pretty loud so we knew she was really hurt. She is a pretty tough kid and normally keeps it together. I brought her back to the house and Aaron was over at his mom and dad's so he came over and looked at it. We tried cleaning it up and putting butterfly bandages on it. I kept in that way for the night and wrapped it again the next day, but it didn't really stay together. We went to the doctor and they tried gluing it. It looked really good once she cleaning it out and glued it. I thought it was going to be great. It just needed to stay on for 3 days...we made it 17 hours. Nona put some rollerblades on and went crazy and the glue came right off. After that we just used liquid band-aid and soaked it morning and night in warm water. It took about a week for it to look closed enough to swim again, but it was amazing how well the liquid band-aid kept it clean and protected.
La came over the next day and Nona snuggled right in and started snoring. It has been so fun to have Lauren live here for the last year. She decided this last week to move back to Utah in January so we are pretty sad around here. This is her toe now with the little shiny scar.

Final Day of Pacome 2022
We had a beautiful morning on a little walk at Hurricane Ridge. We gathered off the path in a grove of trees for a little Come Follow Me. The sun was warm and the company was amazing. The Dahlkes had to race off to get kids to the airport to head to BYU for sports camps. We took our time and went to lunch with the Paces before heading home. I sure do love these trips with my family and amazing friends. This one was definitely one for the books.

Pacome 2022 Beach Day- 2nd Beach
We headed out to the coast for a day and spent the morning at a beach near Forks then headed down to 2nd Beach. It was over 80 degrees and the sand was perfect for playing some sand volleyball. The girls even swam in the water. We got in to our knees and were plenty cooled off. It was an amazing day and we even followed it up with some pickleball after dinner.
Pacome 2022 Olympic National Park Sol Duc Falls
We got a couple homes in Sequim for our home base and spent the days exploring around the area. This day we went on a hike, Sol Duc Falls or Lovers Loop hike. It was fun to walk through the ferns that were taller than Phil. We were having a heat wave so it was over 85 degrees even in the rain forest near the coast. It was over 100 degrees here at home. Cannon didn't come with us because he was working. We missed him, but had a great time.

Combs Family Reunion 2022
After a few years without a family reunion due to covid we made it happen this year. It looked a little different because we decided to just get together during the day and do an activity and have everyone go to their own homes (or airbnb) each night. On the first day we went to Wild Waves for the day. It was just me and Nona because everyone else in our family had something going on. Lyla was at EFY, Miya had to complete her paperwork to work for the City, and Cannon and Phil were working. Day 2 we went bowling again just me and Nona, but we had fun. The last day we did a beach day here. Phil was able to take people out on the boat, we got 2 jet skis from the Behms and the Grows brought their boat over for us to use all day. It was a little cooler that day so the lake was pretty quiet which was amazing. We had good food every day and kids had a great time hanging out with cousins.

Young Women's Camp 2022
I was asked to be a cabin mom for young women's camp this year. I said yes, but I was not excited about it. This kind of thing really stresses me out. Then I was asked to be the 2nd year cabin mom and I really didn't want to do it. We had a couple of girls with special needs and it seemed really hard. It was a long week and I was tired by the end, but I did have a great time. It was great to be with so many amazing young women and to see them all interact. Paige did an amazing job of planning each day. We were able to go over to Anderson Island one day for a service project, hike and swim in the lake. I got to see bits of Lyla and her friends and we had a lot of great food. I also got to be cabin mom's with Lydia and Caren Hunter and they were both great. I did keep saying to myself "I can do hard things". The weather was amazing, Nisqually was fun. We did the polar dip, archery, hatchet throwing, service, hike, games, singing...so much, testimonies, dance party, Bishop's night, trust fall and so much more.

Phil's birthday
We were up in Driggs for Phil's birthday. He spent some time on the golf course with my dad and then we headed to Teton Thai for dinner. Miya was able to be with us and Cannon and Eli showed up late after a rain filled hike. Phil is so easygoing that he didn't care what we did to celebrate, but we had a good time being together with more family and freezing in the rain and chilly weather Driggs wanted to give us this year.
4th of July 2022
We came home from Driggs on the 3rd this year because Phil needed to work a day before he headed off to young men's camp on Orcas Island. That meant we got to mow the lawn and get a few things done in the morning and then party with friends at the Beyler's house for a few hours before coming back home to do fireworks with family. We had a few for the boys to light and blow up, but amazing shows going on all around us on the lake and over the trees on the other side from Steilacoom and Lakewood. The weather wasn't hot, but didn't rain on us. Plus Corbin took Nona on a jetski ride so she was in heaven. It was a great day. Came back to find Gideon no feeling great, but Cannon had been around him all day. He tested positive for Covid the next day, and Cannon tested positive today. They are excited to quarantine in the man cave together for the next few days.
