Stop # 2

We got off the ship and headed out by taxi to Megan's Bay for the day. We rented paddleboards, swam, saw sea turtles and snorkeled. One crazy iguana came right up to me on the beach and took my apple core. It was a beautiful day and the water was warm and amazing.

Things we did on the ship...

Well we did a little of everything on the boat. We tried to master the Flowrider, played some mini-golf, climbed the rock wall, played a ton of shuffleboard, visited the ice cream machine whenever we walked past the pool and we played late night games in the dinning room at our special table each night. Phil is one to keep busy so we did very little sitting and relaxing poolside, but it was fantastic.

Cruise First Stop

Phil actually sat down and relaxed for a few minutes after snorkeling and before volleyball.

Playing in the beach volleyball tournament on the island.

Back in October we went on a cruise with the Phillips' and Phil lost all his pictures off his phone so I finally got all the pictures from Rachel. We had such a great time. We spent a day in Florida before we headed to the ship. We went on an airboat tour and loved seeing the baby alligators and all the local wildlife. These pictures are from the first post. We loved snorkeling and playing volleyball in the nice sand and making sure we were covered in sunblock so we would be able to enjoy the rest of the vacation. Mom and Dad came over to watch the kids for the 10 days we were gone.
Each night at dinner we sat at the same table by the window and the lady next to us was SUPER vocal about how much she disliked everything and the cruise. On the last night Phil started joking with her and took a picture of her and her husband with their camera. He turned the camera around and took a picture of himself and told the lady he thought she would want that. The lady actually laughed! She told me I must have the best life and always be entertained with Phil as my husband. It was amazing to see the turn around and we only wished we would have said something to them sooner.

Basketball

Cannon got the award for "most athletic" from coach Bradshaw

Lyla getting here award from Coach Joe Smith

We had a great basketball season this year with all three kids playing and finally wrapped up all the end of season parties with Miya's on Wednesday playing lazertag. I didn't get any pictures of Miya's party, but she had a fantastic coach this year and her team went undefeated. Miya got "most improved player" and did such a great job playing with girls that have played club ball together for the last 3 years.
Lyla played her first season and got "best in dribbling" from her coach. His name was Joe Smith and he told us that he stopped at the BYU bookstore one time they were driving through so he could get something since he shared the name with the Prophet. He was a nice guy and Lyla had a great time learning to play.
Cannon had 12 boys on his team so it was a lesson in cheering teammates on and enjoying the time he got to play. He enjoyed the boys on his team and he had a great coach.

Slumber Party

Cannon entertaining the girls during breakfast with his sunglasses and rollerblades.

Miya and Tenli

We had the younger Newville kids over for a slumber party a couple of weeks ago to try to let Alexis and Kris catch up on sleep after her surgery. I am not sure that was accomplished, but we had a great time with the girls. Miya and Tenli slept down in the cabin and I thought they might be nervous about it, but they were just excited for the privacy. They stayed up late watching movies and slowly made their way up late Saturday morning.
