Father/Son date

Phil took Cannon out and they spent time at the trampoline place in Tacoma, spent the night (somewhere) ate at a Korean BBQ which Cannon loved, swam in the hotel pool, got up early to paddle board and make it back in time for soccer games on Saturday. The kids love these one-on-one times with dad and Phil loves it just as much. The kids always come home super tired and look just like me after a vacation with Phil...he is a busybody and loved to fit in as much fun as he can with very little sleep or rest.

Nate and Rach

We found time for a night out without kids while Nate and Rach were visiting. We walked along the waterfront in Tacoma and went to dinner. So great to have such amazing friends even if they move all the way down to Texas.

Hiking

Washington's version of The Redwoods on our hike to Grove of the Patriarchs.

The Phillips' came to visit for a week this summer and we crammed in as much fun as we possibly could everyday. Austin took Phil and Nate fishing and they caught a lot of salmon that we cooked up for dinner one night. We rented jet skis for a day and played on the lake. We went out to Mt. Rainier to camp for a couple of days. It was a little chilly, but we still had fun hiking to Grove of the Patriarchs, jumping off rocks into this super cold river, eating around the campfire, card games and exploring.

Friends Swimming

I love Miya's friends. They are so sweet and nice and they have a really great time together. Cannon is also really great when kids come over at canoe rides and pulling them around on the tubes. I love summer, swimming, water, sunshine and we had so much of it this summer it was so great. I picked Miya up the other day from school and as soon as she got in the car she said, "I love my friends...they are so great." mostly to herself, but it was sweet to hear. They are making middle school so fun for her and that is a great blessing to me as her mom. They all respect her standards and ask me questions about things and why Miya can't do certain things (mostly sleep-overs). Miya asked her friends years ago to not take the Lord's name in vain around her and they have all been so good about it. Miya is a really great example to others and tries really hard to live the standards and teach others about them. I am so proud to be her mom and so very thankful for her sweet friends.

My Testimony

I have finally decided to follow in the footsteps of my wonderful Grandfather and put my testimony in writing. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and know that I have been greatly blessed to have strong and courageous ancestors who brought the Gospel into my life. Through much study and prayer I have come to know that I have a personal Savior, Jesus Christ that lived and died for me. I know that He lives and has conquered death that I too may live again. I know that my Father in Heaven has given all the oppurtunity to receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost through baptism because he loves us. The Holy Ghost can testify of the truthfulness of all things to our hearts, both things of this physical world and also the spiritual relm. We can receive answer to prayer by searching the scriptures for in them are truth and light.
I love the Prophet, Joseph Smith and am thankful for the sacrifices he made in restoring the Gospel back to the earth. I know that he saw God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ and that they spoke to him. I know that there is a Prophet on the earth today that speaks to God and directs his children.
I am thankful for the perfection of the Gospel and yet also thankful for the imperfections of the millions of members of the church. With each one striving, like I am, to live better lives each day and become more like our Savior.
