Christmas 2016

Nona got to wear the bow because we all felt she was the best present we all got this year.
Phil made an amazing breakfast for us all.

Christmas this year was great. It was on a Sunday so we had Phil's parents over for breakfast and to open presents. We all headed to church together and enjoyed the meeting filled with Christmas hymns. We came home and spent the day together enjoying new toys and hanging out with friends.

Winter Break Projects 2016

The kids wanted to earn money to buy Christmas presents for everyone so we had a few projects during winter break. We tore out all the book shelves in the sunroom, scrubbed the walls and painted everything. We will be putting in the warm floor and tile in the next few months.

Phil got the cabinet doors put back on once Brother Watts planed all the doors and cut out everything for the benches.

We got the benches done, but I didn't have a finished picture with the lids on. I am excited for all the extra storage and places for people to sit when they come over for dinner and we are cooking. Nona loves it because she can sit and watch all the  little animals in the yard out the window.

Bird Garden 2016

A bird planted and fertilized a corn stalk for us this summer. Randomness of Western Washington and all the plants that grow around here.

Father/Son California Trip 2016

When Miya turned 12 we took her to Washington DC and this was Cannon's trip. With Nona around this year we decided Phil would take Cannon on his trip. They headed down to San Diego for four days. They hung out with Nicki and Steph (who was down there with Lauren for a concert). Cannon loved body surfing, sleeping in a bed (he had been on the floor in the girls room since Nona came), alone time with Phil, the art museum, the arcade, a Padre's game and just getting away. We are so proud of him and all he is doing. So happy to have him in our family and celebrate this big birthday and receiving the Priesthood. He is a gem and such an amazing part of our family.

Snow Days 2017

We have had a lot of snow this year already and used up all our snow days for school so we will be making days up at the end of the year. There is snow in the forecast for next week. The kids have loved having the Newville's live around the block so they can walk over and play with us. Nona wasn't so sure about the snow, but I did take her down on the sled a few times and I thought it was great.
