Cannon Tennis 2018

Cannon did a great job at Mann Middle School playing tennis this year. He was the district champ for boys singles. I really liked his coach and the time he took with the players. I love the team pictures of Cannon because it shows his personality so well. Everyone else is being crazy and he is half participating in the jump, but keeping it pretty serious.
Cannon started at Clover Park High School this summer because he decided to stay at HP for high school. We were hoping he could play at Lakes HS so he would be with Miya, but they didn't give him the approval. He was the only player for Clover Park HS and his coach, who was amazing and won state for girls tennis, was 80 years old. She got one of the graduated players from last year to come in and play with Cannon. Both Phil and I felt worried about Cannon traveling with just the coach in a van to each of the matches. We wanted him on a team so that he could socialize and make some friends. I tried and tried to get a change through the Athletic Directors and the Assistant Superintendent. We worked for months to get it changed, but could never get an answer. I finally went to the Interim Superintendent and got Cannon moved over to Lakes. They had 17 boys on the team. He had played one match for Clover Park and because he was the only player he had to play the number one varsity player and it was pretty ugly. He was excited to play jv at Lakes. I am hoping next year goes a little better because he can just start with Lakes and play all summer with them. He did a great job at staying positive and doing his best at making new friends on the team. I was super proud of him.

Filling Grandma's shoes

These shoes were my Grandma Rammell's and I took them when we got to pick something of hers after the funeral of Grandpa Rammell. Nona loves playing in these shoes. I must say it makes me feel closer to grandma when Nona is clomping around the house in these. I love my grandma so much. She was such a hard worker and great example to me.

Spring 4 Square

The kids were trying to make sure to enjoy the sun on an early spring day after school. Cannon was pretty bossy, but they all had a good time.

Niall Horan Concert

I took Miya to the Niall Horan concert in August. It was at the White River Amphitheater and was so much fun. We went with Alexis and Tenli and the weather was a little rainy, but didn't last long. Just long enough to make my hair a little wavy so it was okay. It was fun dancing and singing with 7000 other teenage girls and their moms. We all pretended he was singing to us. He was funny in between the songs and kept everything really clean. We originally had tickets for the grass, but since it wasn't sold out they let us move up to really chairs. I embarrassed Miya with all the singing and dancing, but she put up with me and laughed it off for the most part. Whenever I got to anything at the high school they all tell Miya that they can tell I am her mom because we look exactly alike. I hope she likes looking like her mom. I sure do love looking like my mom. I always feel so proud when people tell me I look like Chris O'Brien, she is one great lady.

Walks Spring 2018

Nona and I have had plenty of walks at Ft. Steilacoom Park while other kids are busy with practices. We were happy to have a sunny day this spring when all the turtles were out enjoying the warmth.
