Well, the time has come and we are just getting started with graduations for Cannon this year. Seminary graduation was on Sunday and we didn't get any pictures, but he did get a diploma. I am happy/sad that we are here. I am trying to soak up all the piano playing I can over the next few months before he heads off to Idaho in the Fall. I am so proud of all he has accomplished and am so amazed at all he had done even if it looked nothing like I could imagine when he was starting high school. He will graduate from Lakes High School without ever taking a class there or spending a day in the school. He will graduate with his AA degree from Pierce College with only taking 1 in-person class and 1 hybrid class, all the rest were online due to covid concerns. He has worked hard at both McDonald's and Manic Meatballs while finishing school. He has been so helpful and watched the girls while Phil and I went on a few trips. I am excited for what the future holds for him and will miss him and his music in our house.

Rainier to Ruston 2022
We had another great Rainier to Ruston. The weather report called for rain and cold, but the rain held out until the final 2 legs and the sun came out for a big part of the day. Phil's 1st leg (the mud trail) was super muddy this year because it has been so rainy this spring. We have had snow in April and the mountain passes got snow into May. We didn't get our fastest time, but only missed it by 3 minutes. We did however get older so moved to the Masters group and took 1st in our group. There are only 5 teams in that Masters Mixed Group of 4. I love this race so much and love that it bumps up my training runs and then is just so much fun. I loved doing it with Paige and Kirk and of course Phil is always the best to have around.

Nona Lost a Tooth!
Nona came home from school last Monday and had taken a bite of an apple and her "little wiggly" tooth was now super wiggly and ready to come out. She had gone to the nurse's office at school a few times to be reassured that she wouldn't swallow her tooth. Then she couldn't stop touching it and wiggling it when she got home. I tried pulling it a few times, but never pulled hard enough to get it out. Phil came home a few hours later and got it right before Nona went to bed. She was pretty excited to be the one kid to have a tooth come out in kindergarten and not 1st grade like the rest of them. Plus there was confusion with the toothfairy, so she got double the money under her pillow.

Lyla's bowling 2022
Once the high school bowling team was done for the season Coach Byron talked Lyla into joining the league on base. They had kids of all ages and it was much more intense than we were thinking it would be. She ended up liking it, but if you missed a week you had to pay for it the next time. We got so busy and missed a few weeks and didn't want to pay for them so didn't go back. When I would drop her off at bowling I would walk base for an hour. I loved looking at the old brick buildings, officer's housing and the view of Mt. Rainier.

Lyla Tennis 2022
Lyla decided to play tennis this spring and has loved it. She loves all the girls on the team and they hang out as much as possible off the court now. She was able to play about 1/2 of her matches on varsity and even won a couple. She has improved so much this year and her serve is getting stronger. It has been so fun to watch and I love when my friends make some good friends at school that are kind people.
