The fun continues

We kept the kids up late every night  so they were super tired when we got home. Lyla slept in until 10:00 on Tuesday morning. We headed back into Portland for the Rose Festival. The kids enjoyed the pool at the downtown Hilton. We took them to VooDoo Doughnuts and hit the Memorial Day Parade before we headed home. As a bonus I added the picture of Phil because he is just so hot!

Memorial Day Weekend Cont.

We took the kids over to Mt. Hood and stayed at a resort at the base of the mountain. We did a short hike up to Mirror Lake. It was a beautiful day and the kids had a great time. There was still a little snow on the trail and snow out and around the lake.

Memorial Day Weekend

We took the kids out of school so we could head down to Portland with Phil for work and then hang out with the Phillips' for the long weekend. We went with Phil's employees to the Timberland Soccer game on Wednesday night and it was tons of fun. I am in love with soccer. I love to play it and I totally love watching it now that I know what is going on. Thursday and Friday the kids and I spent the day in the hotel pool while Phil was working. We ate out at our Portland restaurants and the kids think it is funny that whenever we eat at this one we get the same table in the back corner...we are always the only family there with kids and therefore the back corner out of everyone way.
We stopped by the library on the way down to Portland to get Miya some books and she managed to read all of them by the time we got back.

Kids

The weather was so great on Monday that the kids wanted to swim after school. Of course they got in and it took their breath away. Cannon dunked under a few times and then decided digging in the sand and sitting on a tube in the water was a better idea. Miya loves reading and it is hard to pull her away from her books, but she does love being outside too. Lyla is excited about going to Grandma's house next month to take swim lessons in the pool so she doesn't always have to have a life jacket on this summer. What a beautiful world we live in.

Summer

This weekend was fantastic. The weather was perfect and we were able to have friends over Friday for a BBQ and games. Saturday was ward temple night and we carpooled with some great friends and had super yummy food after. Sunday for Mother's Day Phil invited the Phillips' over and he grilled up some blackened salmon. It was in the upper 70s with a breeze off the water and the kids played around down by the water building a house for the ducks. They were busy playing "work" and Cannon was saying to his "boss" Vivian that work was really getting in the way of his life. Glad to see that we are teaching our kids such important things.
I am so happy to have such good friends. Friends that make me want to be better and make me laugh while we are together. I love having friends that always make me feel like I am loved and important. I also love having a husband that always makes me feel that way.
I am super pumped and excited for summer and this weekend seemed like such a great start.
