Family Fun

One of Miya's chores is to take out the garbage and recycle. Lyla and Cannon were so excited for Lyla to hide in the yard waste bin and scare Miya. Miya was scared and then she scared Lyla by pretending to walk away and then ran back to shake the bin. You can tell from the video that Lyla didn't like it.

Miya and Tenli's day in Seattle

Miya won the March Madness bracket for our family this year. For winning she got to spend the whole day in Seattle with a friend. They had Spring Break just after the tournament so they were able to go in early with Phil to work. They spent the morning handing out at a coffee shop talking and waiting for stores to open. They window shopped and tried on some clothes, went to a movie, ate lunch, walked around by Phil's work and were followed around by a homeless guy. Miya was super nervous and walking really fast. I don't worry about her with Tenli because she can take care of the both of them. It was a really good day for both of them and a great way for them to get used to the city.

Nona's 1st birthday

We gave Nona cheesecake for her birthday, but she wasn't so sure about it to start with. I fed her a few bites and she was quick to catch on and loved it.

We went out to Red Robin with my parents the day before her birthday and they sang to her and gave her an ice cream sunday.

So fun to have all her grandparents here for her first birthday.

The swing we got her for her birthday.

Ali and Jordan moved into our ward months ago, but we didn't connect that we were related until I went to Grandpa Rammell's funeral and they were there. They were only in our ward for a few months while Jordan did a rotation at the hospital here. She is Mark Rammell's daughter.

Nona's 1st birthday was celebrated with mom and dad coming for a visit. It was so great to have them here. So much fun to have Nona hit that one year mark and to feel like we are finally getting the hang of having another little one around our home. She still hates her car seat and being in the car. She is a fantastic sleeper and still takes two really good naps. She loves when everyone gets home from school and has more people to play with. She loves mom and spending as much time outside as possible. She loves the walks we take each week with Jamie Pace and Aiden. She loves Austin Newville and seeing him in Sunday School.

Priesthood General Conference Trip 2016

Phil and Cannon were able to go down to Utah for a 4 day trip to General Conference with some of the other young men and their dads. They did tours of the rock quarry where they got the stones for the temple and a tour of the conference center. They did a hike one day and went to Lagoon for an afternoon. Cannon didn't love that so he went out to the car and waited for hours for everyone. They were able to attend the Priesthood session and one other session before heading home on Sunday morning.
They were all amazed at how big this picture was.

Scriptural Tree

We have been working in the yard with some over grown bushes and trees we are taking out. One tree seems just like the tree in the scriptures where they are talking about grafting in a wild branch and then the branch over runs the roots and the whole tree is wild. This was a rhododendron tree that then another tree took over. It looks like part of it is still rhododendron in the picture, but that is just another bush in front. I only prune out the branches on the tree because I am a little curious to see what happens with it over the next season. I wonder if I could graft in rhody branches and it would take over. I love gardening here in Washington with all the weird things that happen and the amount of random plants come up everywhere. We took out another maple tree and two other bushes this weekend.
