Serving in Primary is awesome and amazing, but I come home from church each Sunday sweaty and exhausted. I might be one of the most strict and scary leader ever to serve in there, but I really do love these kids. Today for Sharing Time I taught about keeping the Sabbath Day holy and I loved that for the primary kids it gave a suggestion that we can ask ourselves this question in order to see if things are Sabbath Day appropriate:
Does this (activity) help me remember Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ?
I love when things seem super simple and serving in Primary has helped me remember to look to the basics and make sure I am doing the simple things I need to be doing everyday. I also really love to work with my kids and get a chance to know all the other children in the Ward.

Daddy Daughters Date 2014
Phil took the girls on a stay over date around Seattle and Bellevue. They did so many things and stayed up so super late. The girls came home talking non-stop about all the fun things they did and saw and then went to bed early. All the kids really love time spent with dad.
Pike's Place Market because Miya really loves the cheese shop down there.
It was Comi-con downtown Seattle and they saw a ton of people dresses up and walking around.
Gameworks Downtown
They stopped by the temple and walked around the grounds outside the gate since they were there so late.
The hotel in Bellevue
Swimming in the pool for a few minutes before they had to check out.

High Hut April 2014
We had each kid bring their own pack and they made it all the way up. We had one moment of tears from Lyla, but with a promise of picking out her own Easter basket she made it without any more complaint.
Phil pulled up all our food.
One of the breaks on the trip up to the hut.
Miya and Viv helping with the tunnel.
Ashley and Lyla getting ready to sled for the day.
Cannon and Carson digging a tunnel.
Phil with the hut in the background.
Cannon tied his snowboard around his waist to drag it to the top so he could ride it all the way down on the way home.
This is our family rock band cover photo. I love it will the brightly colored sleds.
Cocoa and snacks after sledding.
Rach and Nate so glad they made it up the mountain.
A little snowshoe trip around the loop on the second day.
We got to see Mt. Rainier everyday up above the clouds.
Cannon almost went over the cliff on his way down on his board, but luckily rolled just in time.
Lyla replaced the food on the sled on the way down the mountain. All the kids loved the ride down and are excited about doing this trip to High Hut again next year. Now with Nate and Rach in Texas we are hoping we can get another family to come with us.
Labor Day Camping 2013
We were able to camp with the Phillips' for Labor Day last year and it was fantastic. The weather was hot and the river was cold. We went on a hike to the Grove of Giants, ate super good Dutch-oven food, played games by lantern, jumped off the rocks into the river and swam further downstream (even Rachel in her clothes). It was a great trip.
