Nate and Rach come for a visit

We got to spend the day with Nate and Rach while they were up for a visit. It wasn't nearly long enough, but we fit in as much fun as we could. We went up to Seattle, saw the troll, ate some local chocolate, watched UW lose to Utah in the rain. Phil and Nate went down at half-time to visit with Kris and Austin Newville who were in the first row.

Trunk-or-Treat

Halloween was on a Saturday this year so we did the Ward chili cook-off and trunk-or-treat that day. We had been having a ton of rain, but it cleared just long enough for us to have the kids outside and then it started up again. Miya had Danyael and Josiah come and Abe Fowler brought two of their friends so they had a good group going. Cannon was a "cereal killer" with his Frosted Mini-Wheats and spoon. Lyla was a fox and Miya was a girl in lipstick!

Halloween Dance 2015

Sometimes it is scary to let your kids grow up and do the things they want to do. Miya really wanted to go to the school Halloween dance this year with her friends. Phil and I talked a lot about it because her school goes from 6th-12th grade and that just seems crazy to have a dance with all those kids. We talked to her about what was appropriate and if she wanted to have us come get her early she should call and we would be there. We took Lyla and Cannon bowling while Miya was at the dance. When we picked her up at 9:00 she let us know that all the high school kids were dancing up on the walkway and not down by all the middle school kids. She said it was a ton of fun and didn't notice anything inappropriate happening. We then went out for ice cream so she could remember that she liked hanging out with us too. I feel to young to be having some of these experiences, but I am so glad I have a daughter that is good and listens to the promptings of the Holy Ghost. She is the first to change the radio station if music comes on with lyrics that aren't okay and she is a really good example to her friends.

Newville's

This was a dinner after a temple trip with Kris and Alexis sometime during the summer before we all lost our tans and before Alexis had another surgery and started chemo again. She is my brave amazing friend that had been fighting this battle for the last 2 years. She is fun and amazing despite all that is currently going on. So great to have such good examples in friends and people you get to hang out with all the time.

Cousin Visit

Hailey and her husband were up here in Seattle for a conference for work. I rode the train up to meet Phil in Seattle and we took them to West Seattle for pizza and to look around. It was fun to get to hang out and show them around. Always great to have family around.
