They had dress rehearsal the night before and were able to hear all the kids play and Cannon came home telling me all about a boy that played a pirate song that he loved. He got my attention when the boy played the song and was smiling the entire time the song was going. He is super excited to get that good. Motivation to practice!

Today
The weather is beautiful today. I got my first little (on my arms) sunburn of the season and it feels great. We are heading off to the park this evening to play volleyball. The kids got in the water today for a few minutes and then wrapped up in towels freezing. I LOVE SUMMER.

Cabin and Other Random Pictures
Phil just cleaned some pictures off his phone that covered everything from the past 5 months off activities. Had to put them on here so they would make it into the book once I print it off.
Phil took the kids to the skate park while I made dinner Monday following Easter after we had been working all day on the cabin since it was Phil's day off.
Cannon loves riding his bike at the skate park. We took him to look at bikes the other day so eventually he will be on a bike that isn't too small. Although he didn't really like any bikes that he couldn't both sit on the seat and touch the floor with his feet.
We like to hit the park when no one else is around for my kids to get in their way.
We got the appliances moved in and it makes the kitchen seem WAY smaller, but it is fully functioning now and we are excited to be getting closer to the end.
We just need to finish the back splash and the tiles should be in this week. They are sea glass tiles and I think they would add just the right splash of color.
Just a reminder of work that has been done.
Bathroom almost complete. We are putting in the mirrors and the back splash this weekend.
About the middle of the process.
These pictures are old and from the trip to Disneyland.

Lyla
Yesterday I decided to take Lyla to the doctor . She had a cough and a low fever that weren't going away and her breathing was a little labored. Phil was heading out of town for work so I thought it would be a good idea. Lyla is a little goer and she just didn't seemed to have the same hop in her step and she was laying around more than normal. Oh, and she really hadn't eaten much in the last four days and even passed on treats Sunday after dinner. She stayed in bed yesterday morning for an hour after she woke-up just talking to herself. So we walked into the office and she was smiling and laughing about wearing the mask to cover the cough. She gave the doctor high five and told him all about going to the dentist last week. He listened to her lungs and said she didn't sound good. They checked her oxygen levels and they were low. We did a breathing treatment and she sang the entire time and was making up silly songs. The albuterol was making her a little loopy. The doctor thought it was funny. He listened to her breathing again and said it sounded really bad. They gave her steroids and checked her O2 levels again (88). Then we did another breathing treatment. She wasn't so happy this time around because the steroids she took made her super grouchy, plus it had been 2 hours in the office and she really wanted a sticker. The doctor (I should say that I really love my kids doctor and think he is great) listened to her breathing again and said he couldn't believe that a kid as happy and spunky as Lyla had been could have pneumonia, but that we needed to go over to the radiology department in the next building and get an x-ray of her lungs. We did that and then headed back over to the dr. Lyla was just happy that she got to pick 2 stickers out at the radiology department. We sat down with the doctor to look at the x-ray and she did have pneumonia. So we are currently running a pharmacy out of our kitchen for the next few days with antibiotics, steroids and albuterol breathing treatments. I have to continue telling Lyla that if she doesn't take her medicine she wont be better and able to do the Easter Egg hunt this weekend with Aunt Ashlee's kids. This helps her swallow everything down and sit for the treatments. And just think I almost didn't take her in to the doctor.
P.S. she has a really large rats nest covering the back of her head, but she doesn't want her hair brushed so we will try to conditioner it out tonight in the tub.

It's been a month
Well I have sat down at the computer a ton of times this last month and didn't feel like updating the old blog. I don't really have much to say, but the kids have been doing some funny things that I didn't want to forget so I thought I would spend a few minutes typing it out for our family memory book. Cannon: We just painted Lyla's old room and moved Cannon in there. I took him to Home Depot to get the paint and he really wanted this dark turquoise paint, but I said no. I picked out a nice light tan color and he thought I was super boring. Once I got it all done with his bedding and dresser painted he was more excited about it. He came home from school and told me how much he loved me now that he got his new bedroom. My friend Merissa was visiting from out of town and she was sleeping in his room. He made her a list of rules that must be followed in his room:
- No Killing (no one wants to clean up blood in their new room)
- No Hitting
- No Kicking
- No Slapping
- No Being Popular (it doesn't seem like a good thing on High School Musical)
Lyla: Has been in love with getting the mail. She has learned that the mail man doesn't come on Sunday and that he only comes once a day no matter how many times she goes out to check it.
Miya: Got to have her first ever friend sleepover this last weekend. The rule is that she is only able to stay with cousins or this one family friend that she has grown up with. She had a wonderful time and couldn't stop telling Cannon about all the fabulous things they did together. Cannon informed Miya that he got to go to Burger King on Saturday while she was away so that made up for not getting to have a sleepover of his own. It is always about trying to make the other person feel worse around here.
